The Turoe Stone is one of the most famous carved stones in Ireland. It is one of two stones found in Galway-Roscommon region that have been carved in the intricate style of Celtic Art known as La Tene. The other stone is in the same area at Castlestrange. About 30km to the north. Both of these stones are curiously dome or phallic shaped and completely covered with these unique and mysterious carvings.
